Advice When Searching for an Attorney
When searching for the right attorney to assist with your needs, do your homework. Check the attorney’s credentials at www/texasbar.com.
Additionally, ask the attorney the following questions:
Have you successfully handled this type of case?
Have you ever had a grievance filed against you and what was the result?
Have you been sued professionally?
What is your hourly rate, or will you be charging a flat fee for this case?
Is your retainer refundable or non-refundable?
Do you accept payment plans?
How many active cases do you currently have in total?
Are there any other attorneys you would recommend?
What amount of malpractice insurance do you have?
Don’t be fooled by an attorney’s big expensive office. It usually means that you will pay more for the attorney’s services.
Simply stated, the ability to serve your needs is not measured by the quality of the desk that the attorney completes the work at: but instead, the quality of the work completed at the desk.
Finally, if after you’ve engaged an attorney for services and that attorney repeatedly fails to return your calls and emails, reschedules appointment after appointment, and simply does not keep promises, then quickly find another attorney.
